The House
The Old Vicarage is set in over an acre of lovely wooded gardens, and is surrounded by fields. A stone's throw away, further up the lane, is St. Cuthbert's Church.
The land on which The Old Vicarage is built was bought by the Church in 1892. The original deeds for the land can be seen hanging at the top of the staircase. This beautiful Victorian property was built to house the Vicar of the Parish, his family and his staff.
The property first became a Guest House in 1986. Jane and Peter moved into the Old Vicarage in 2007 and have been refurbishing the property and welcoming guests ever since.

Sitting Room
The Sitting Room is cosy and comfortable with an open fire and a selection of books and magazines available for guests. An ideal setting if you want to relax and unwind with a glass of wine in the front of an open fire on a cold winter's evening, or enjoy a nightcap before retiring to your room after a long day out exploring the Lakes.
Dining Room
Breakfast is served in our elegant Victorian dining room each morning. The Dining Room not only enjoys views of the Fells at the front of the house, but if you're lucky enough, our resident woodpeckers and squirrels might make an appearance on the front lawn and provide you with some light entertainment whilst you enjoy your breakfast. At the end of a long day out and about, why not come home to one of Peter's hearty home-made dinners, where you can enjoy some of the best ingredients Cumbria and the North Lakes has to offer.
Bathroom
For those of you who would prefer to unwind in a relaxing bath at the end of the day and only have an en-suite shower room, we have a separate bathroom, which has been recently refurbished with a large roll-top bath - ideal for soothing those aching muscles after a long day out on Fells!
The Coach House
The Coach House is located adjacent to the Main House, and comprises of one double and one twin-bedded room, both with en-suites. The Coach House is ideally suited for families with older children who might otherwise be worried about disturbing other guests. The Coach House rooms have exposed stone walls and a more 'Country Cottage' feel than the rooms in the main house.
